Issue 27: March 2025
Poem: 59 words
By Crystal Taylor

Violets

The sky, its mouth full of marshmallows
said, Keep going—Arms stretched high,
I cupped my hands around a rainbow.

Brought it home to lift you up
and raise you.
Show you how violets bloom

after bruised indigo, how sun rays
warm stems until faces turn to light.
And when they do—

O how they shine, shine, shine.
