A Month Before They Died
I took a picture of my parents holding hands. Close up, their hands filled the frame. Mine are starting to look like my mother’s: wrinkled knuckles, blue veins, light liver spots near the base of my right thumb. It’s not so bad. I put one over the other and she’s here, holding my hand.
