The day before he broke their hearts
One step at a time
Each packed bag
Each packed box
Till nothing remained
The door closed quietly
And left empty silence
Sun comes up
Each day after
Sparking rainbows on their glass-filled floor
And with each piece swept
Gentle step by step
Their hearts grew
Not quite whole
A different puzzle
To be made
