With the window open, a stillness pervades my office desk as morning edges into noon. Two mating dragonflies settle on the pen-stand.

I study the curve of their bodies’ union, pick up my phone to take a snap. While I’m grappling with focus, they fly off, still united.

is a practising physician who lives in the Himalayan foothill state of Manipur, India. Initially, he wrote free verse and very short stories as a hobby. “After a friend introduced me to haiku,” he says, “I have been swimming in haiku and related forms of writing as an enthusiastic novice.” His work has been published in haikai journals, both Indian and international, including Haikuniverse, Haiku Dialogue, and the debut issue of Blōō Outlier Journal (Winter 2020); and in the Moonlight Haiku Challenge Anthology (September 2020). He is also an avid photographer with mobile phones.
